Visit websitewww.pharma.adichemtech.com and www.adichemtech.com

Senior Scientist, Chemgenes Corporation, Wilmington, MA (2010-2012)

  • Advisory role to various departments such as Research and Development, Quality Control, Sales and Marketing
  • Process development and improvement to increase yield and purity of compounds.
  • Approve Final Products for customer delivery.
  • Design Product Catalogs for new customer acquisition.

Johnson Matthey Pharma, Devens MA (2005 to 2010)

Research Scientist (Organic Chemistry)

Process development for synthesis of biologically active molecules to increase yield and purity of compounds. Carried out small-to-large sized organic synthesis reactions (0.05g to 6kg.) to achieve desired results.

Implemented recovery of trash reverse phase for production and applied cGMP process techniques. Designed a new route for API.

Demonstrated the new route synthesis on 100 g to 6 kg scale as well as on GMP production with optimum purity and yield.

Scientist (Analytical Chemistry)

Developed new HPLC methods for compound detection as per test methods and released the compound for GMP. During this process I handled various instruments such as DSC, KF, GC, IR and LC-MS to produce desired results.

Internal Sales Support associate

Worked with the internal sales team to create proposals and followed up with research team to ensure that contracted services were handled in proficient and professional manner. Diligently followed-up with potential new customers and existing customers to generate sales revenue. Assisted in resolving customer complaints and disputes by gathering information from customers and internal personnel. Maintained consistent communication between various internal groups and external customers acting as a conduit for incoming requests for CDAs, requests for proposals, delivery and shipping information and expediting other customer requests.

Research Organic Chemist, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Waltham, MA (May 2005 – Nov 2005)

  • Successfully carried out small-to-mid sized organic syntheses (0.1-10 g), as well as small-scale parallel syntheses for discovery or lead-optimization purposes.
  • Carried out Process development to increase yield and purity of compounds.
  • Gathered and organized test data on materials prepared (such as analytical results, biological assay results SAR).
  • Registered new compounds using a number of company databases
  • Regularly communicated results to the group at team meetings.

Senior Research Executive, Kopran Pharmaceuticals, Mumbai, India (2003 – 2004)

  • Carried out total Patent Search for ceftazidine ceftriaxone, azitidine, atorvastatine molecules. (sites USPTO, esp@cenet, STN, Dialog).
  • Carried out Literature search for designing a new route for cefepime.
  • Actively involved in process development and recommended changes in process (by changing solvents, reagents without violating patents) to reduce cost and to improve yield.
  • Handled a team of 4 organic chemists.

Research Scientist, USV Limited, Mumbai India (2002 – 2003)

  • Carried out the synthesis of famciclovir by following patented procedure.
  • Carried out total literature search and patent search and designed a new route for famciclovir. The intermediates and final product were confirmed with 1H NMR, IR, MASS and HPLC.
  • Carried out synthesis of famciclovir using new route with optimum purity and yield. Three successive batches of 100 gms. each obtained with optimum purity.
  • Carried out purification of orlistat.
  • Actively involved in process development for the synthesis of valaciclovir.
