Prathista

OVERSEAS BUSINESS PLAN

To establish a Joint Venture facility to develop and manufacture Organic Plant Nutrients & other Multi-purpose products.

Prathista is open to establish a R&D cum manufacturing units based on fermentation technology under “Private-Public partnership program or as a Joint venture”. The exclusive feature of the Prathista’s Fermentation Technology is that it can manufacture multiple products as below, in a single venture

  • Active pharmaceutical ingredients
  • Veterinary and poultry feed additives
  • In the agricultural sector for the production of organic plant nutrients/fertilizers
  • Food ingredients

In this regard, we wish to submit for the consideration of allotment of industrial / government land of about 70 acres along with 70,000 SFT covered area for the proposed Joint Venture (JV). In order to set up a fermentation-based plant, we require a significant capital investment that can support the set up of a small scale unit with 10,000 L capacity fermentation facilities with 5-6 fermenters initially. This can be further enhanced to a capacity of 30,000 L fermentation plant with minimum 10 fermenters.

The proposed Bio-Technology project capital outlay will be approximately $70 million (US) with a minimum requirement of 60 acres land. The project implementation duration will be a minimum of two and half years from the date of signing the JV agreement. This activity can be taken up in a phased manner. The total plant, machinery, and technology will be supplied from India, as all critical equipment are tailor-made items.

As the project implementation duration is around two and half years, we propose to develop or market our products during this period by importing from India, so that the market will be ready by the time of the project is implemented for its commercial production.

We would like to seek some investment from the local Governmental agencies as equity, in the form of financial assistance of about 50% of the project cost. We also request the government agencies to buy back the part of capacity to distribute products through the state marketing channels.

The proposed project is “zero pollution unit and 100% Eco-Friendly” with no harmful chemicals utilization in the manufacturing process. The fermentation process is based on the use of biological microorganisms which are been in use from decades for various other applications as well.

The novelty of technology is the use of basic raw materials like sucrose/ glucose/ sugarcane juice/ milk whey liquid (a waste by-product from milk cheese manufacturing units). These can be sourced from any sugar industry while glucose can be manufactured from maize or tapioca starch at in-house. Therefore, this Project is totally technology-driven and based on agriculture produce as basic raw material.

Since the proposed project is based on agriculture produce, the project will gain certain incentives like subsidy on capital investment, income tax incentives, and subsidies for 15 years. Subsidized taxes on finished products as well as power subsidy also included from the government. The proposed project will have employment potential of 120 skilled and semi-skilled manpower where 85% will be for locals.
